Meet Nick

A proud son of Richland One

Nicholaus Zachary Outen was born and raised in Richland County and is a proud graduate of W. J. Keenan High School. He attended Alcorn Middle School and John P. Thomas Elementary School, giving him firsthand experience with the schools, educators, neighborhoods, and families that make Richland One home.

After earning his degree from Clemson University, Nick made the intentional decision to return home and invest back into the community that helped raise him. His work has centered on education, workforce development, civic engagement, community outreach, data analysis, public engagement, and large-scale operations.

Nick believes leadership starts with service, listening, transparency, and accountability to the people closest to the work.

Why I’m Running

Every child deserves opportunity, no matter their zip code.

“I believe every student deserves strong advocacy, every educator deserves support, every parent deserves transparency, and every taxpayer deserves responsible leadership.”

Priorities

Focused on students, families, educators, and results

These priorities will guide how Nick listens, asks questions, evaluates decisions, and represents the Richland One community.

01

Student Achievement

02

Supporting Educators

Listen to teachers and staff and make sure they have the tools, support, and working conditions they need.

03

Parent Transparency

Communicate clearly, make information easier to access, and create real opportunities for families to be heard.

04

Safe, Strong Schools

Support learning environments where students and staff feel safe, respected, supported, and ready to succeed.

05

Community First

This campaign is about more than one candidate.

It is about students, families, educators, alumni, taxpayers, and neighbors coming together around a shared commitment to stronger schools and greater opportunity.

Listen first Leadership should begin with the people most affected by each decision.
Be transparent Families and taxpayers deserve clear information and honest communication.
Focus on results Every policy and investment should connect back to student success.
